Credit reader Graham Wilson for pointing out a mistake I had in my story on Jai Lucas last Thursday. Florida has had nine transfers leave the program since 2003-04, the season I first started covering the team. I forgot Brandon Powell, the ex-Gator shooting guard who left for Marshall after his freshman season in 2006-07. Some thoughts on Lucas First things first. If you want to call Jai Lucas selfish for deciding to transfer from UF, than you obviously know little about him as a person, or his family. His father John, battled his own demons and has spent countless time helping other basketball players recover from addiction at his suburban Houston complex. Parsons starts

Florida’s first exhibition game of the season against Warner University began with a twist, with Chandler Parsons replacing projected starter Walter Hodge in the starting lineup. Reportedly, Hodge approached Billy Donovan with the idea of coming off the bench to benefit the team. The move gives Florida a little more size across the frontline to start the game, but Hodge still projects to get starter’s minutes off the bench. We’ll follow up later.
