I’ve known Joakim Noah for almost five years. I’ve seen the fun-loving side of Noah that comes with success and winning championships. I’ve also admired his social conscience, his views on issues larger than his own circle and larger than basketball. Painter commits to Gators

Florida has received an oral commitment from 6-9, 195-pound power forward DeShawn Painter, the Sun has learned. Painter, the fourth ranked power forward in the 2009 Class according to Scout.com, committed to UF following a weekend visit to campus. He attends Hargrave Military Academy, the same school that produced UF sophomore center Marreese Speights and incoming UF forward Vernon Macklin, a transfer from Georgetown.
