Joakim Noah said he was going to wear something funky for the NBA Draft. Noah lived up to his description with his attire, a double-breasted light beige suit, made complete with a brown bow tie. Noah also is wearing his hair down for the occasion.

Florida coach Billy Donovan intended to make it to New York City to watch Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Joakim Noah get picked in tonight’s NBA Draft.
But due to air traffic problems in the Northeast, Donovan was unable to make the trip.

Joakim Noah barely had a minute to breathe when he sat in the lobby of the Westin Hotel on Times Square.

Al Horford said he’s still considering an invitation to play for the Dominican Republic national team this summer.
The 6-foot-9 Horford was born in Puerto Plata, a resort town on the north shore of the island.

Corey Brewer thought he was going to spend a few days relaxing in his native Portland, Tenn., in the days leading up to his trip to the Phoenix before the NBA Draft.
Then, the phone rang.
“Phoenix wanted to fly me out for a workout Tuesday night,” Brewer said.

Arrived in New York City on Tuesday morning and it didn’t feel much different than Florida. Hot. Muggy. A little more smog because of all the cars.
Florida’s big three (a.k.a. Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Joakim Noah) will face more than the heat Wednesday afternoon. A media session will draw reporters and television stations from throughout the county. It’s been a rough tumble for former Gator guard Vernon Maxwell.
Maxwell, 42, was taken in the second round of the NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets 19 years ago this week.

Three Florida players are expected to go in the first round of Thursday’s NBA draft.
The Gators nearly landed a fourth likely first-rounder two years ago, when point guard Javaris Crittenton narrowed his final two college choices to Georgia Tech and Florida.

While former Gators Joakim Noah, Corey Brewer and Al Horford will spend Thursday night at the NBA draft green room in New York City, point guard Taurean Green will stay closer to home.
