Well, I never actually saw him except at basketball games, but I'm sure he must have been there somewhere. I always hated the way he got called for fouls. He would stand in the lane with his arms up, and the opposing player would drive at him, put a knee in his chest and get the foul call. If the refs would have called it fair, he would have been the NCAA record holder in getting charge calls. Never understood it. Maybe he should have flopped like Dukies do. Dunno. They started ripping him when he signed with UF until the day he left. He was very popular with both Gator fans and the student body. Don DeVoe was not and stands as the worst athletic hire in UF history. After Vandy littered their court with tennis balls, I tried to get a bunch of guys to throw out a bunch of basketballs at their tennis team when they came to Gainesville later, but I couldn't get enough "balls" to throw to make a difference. The Asst. Coach (Towe) got a bit of shaft onece in G'ville, too. Time goes by and wounds heal, and I wish Coach Towe the very best, and will always remember Dwayne fondly as well. The Gators are rolling in basketball, and I hope they keep it going with Boynton leading the way! GO GATORS!
