Snippets from St. Louis

by admin

How do you know when you’re a baseball town? When your police force is investigated after confiscating scalped tickets and using them in the World Series. The top story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch cited the ethical dilemma in a front-page story Wednesday. If you’re a Cardinals fan and desperate for postseason tickets next year, you might want to consider a career in law enforcement.

The nightlife in St. Louis is a stark contrast to New Orleans. Most kitchens and restaurants Wednesday night closed before 10 p.m., and on Washington Avenue, there were no signs of life, save for a few bums asking for pocket change.

Maybe things will pick up this weekend.
