Back in Top 25

by admin

Florida returned to the Top 25 rankings Monday afternoon.

The Gators (16-2), who have won 10 straight, are at No. 24 in the Associated Press poll with 175 votes. Florida’s lone losses this season have come against current No. 8 Syracuse and Florida State, which received 34 votes this afternoon.

Florida fell out of the poll following a 57-55 loss at FSU last Dec. 7.

Asked about the possibility of being ranked Monday afternoon, Florida coach Billy Donovan said: “I would hope that would be the expectation. Programs like Duke, North Carolina, UCLA, they all expect to be ranked … our guys should expect that and it should have no bearing on how we practice or how we play.”

The ESPN/USA Today coaches poll will be released later this afternoon.
